What are all the cheat codes for 3D Ultra Lionel TrainTown and how do I use them?

To use cheat codes in 3D Ultra Lionel TrainTown (and TrainTown Deluxe), open the cheat prompt during gameplay or at the selection screen:

  1. Press Shift + \ to type the pipe symbol (|). This activates the hidden cheat entry mode.

  2. Type the desired cheat code (case does not matter).

  3. Press Enter to submit.

Note: Completing a level using cheat codes awards a red check mark on the job board instead of a blue ribbon.

Global & Unlock Cheats

  • Brain (or Brian): Unlocks all job bins and levels in the roster. This stays active until you exit the game.

Job Completion & Time Cheats

  • Lionel: Instantly completes and marks the current job as finished.

  • Chris: Adds 300 seconds (5 minutes) to the mission timer.

  • Andrew: Adds 30 seconds to the mission timer.

Train & Movement Cheats

  • Kelle: Disables speed limits and derailment/crash penalties for the remainder of the job.

  • Neal: Instantly refuels the currently selected locomotive.

  • MoveIt: Boosts the top speed of all active trains on the track.

  • Gimme: Grants manual speed control over all cars/trains (use carefully, as it can cause unexpected collisions).

  • NoFuel: Gives all locomotives infinite fuel (requires the v1.1 game patch or Deluxe version).

Hazard & Track Repair Cheats

  • FixAll: Instantly repairs all broken tracks, zapped switches, and hazards across the entire map.

  • JCarey: Repairs track hazards and broken switches in the immediate vicinity of the selected car.

  • CominThru: Ignores or removes one-way track restrictions near the selected train.

Cargo & Level-Specific Cheats

  • Paul: Instantly unloads cargo from the selected car.

  • Load: Opens a prompt allowing you to assign any cargo type directly to the selected car.

  • #_ (Replace _ with a character/number, e.g., #5 or #A): Loads the selected car with that specific digit or letter (useful for math/spelling levels like School Daze).

  • JobBoss: Triggers a unique auto-solve/helper action depending on the specific puzzle type:

    • Maze levels: Reveals the complete map overlay.

    • Hangman levels: Solves and displays the hidden word.

    • Building jobs: Advances construction to the next stage.
