You can set Waterfox as your default browser on your Android device. Android version 10 and newer Tap the menu button. Tap Settings . Tap the Set as default browser toggle. The Set Waterfox as your default browser app? screen displays. Tap the Waterfox radio button. Tap Set as default . Android version 7, 8 and 9 Tap the menu button. Tap Settings . Tap the Set as default browser toggle. The DEFAULT DEVICES screen displays. Tap Browser app . The BROWSER APP screen displays. Tap the Waterfox radio button. Android version 6 In the Settings menu on your device, tap Apps & notifications (it may be called Apps or Applications on some versions of Android). Waterfox for Android has a built-in QR code reader in the address bar, this makes it easy to visit a webpage by scanning a QR code. How to use the QR code reader Tap the search bar. Here’s how to change it in your settings: Open your Android settings by tapping the Settings app on your device. Tap Apps & notifications (this might have a different label on your version of Android). Tap Waterfox . Tap Permissions. Tap Camera. Tap Allow. Close out of the Settings app, reopen Waterfox and scan the QR code.

Waterfox Essentials: HTTPS-Only Mode in Waterfox for Android

HTTPS-Only Mode is automatically enabled in Waterfox for Android, versions 1.0.0 and later. For every website you visit, Waterfox will automatically establish a secure, encrypted connection over HTTPS whenever possible. This is especially useful when you are using a public Wi-Fi, where you can’t be sure of the integrity of your internet connection. You can disable or enable this feature in your settings. What is the difference between HTTP and HTTPS? HTTP stands for Hypertext Transfer Protocol. It is the fundamental protocol for the web and encodes basic interactions between browsers and web servers. The problem with the regular HTTP protocol is that the data transferring from server to browser is not encrypted, meaning data can be viewed, stolen, or altered. HTTPS protocols fix this by using either TLS (Transport Layer Security) or SSL (Secure Sockets Layer). This creates a secure encrypted connection between the server and the browser, which protects sensitive information....
